One of the most important teachings of Jesus was the golden rule. He taught His followers to “do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”
Psalms 106:3 says, “There is joy for those who deal justly with others and always do what is right.”
Think about that verse…there is joy for those who are just in their dealings with others. How does that happen?
When we treat others right, we experience the joy of a clear conscience. We experience the joy of being at peace with our fellow man. Paul said in Romans 12:18, “If it is possible, as much as it depends on you, live at peace with your fellow man.”
So, one of our goals each day should be to do right by others. To treat others right. And when we do, we experience joy.
John Wesley said that we should, “Do all the good you can, in all the ways you can, as long as you ever can.” That applies to our fellow man.
