Dealing with fear

Fear is something everyone experiences at times. The word “phobia” is the word for fear and there are lots of phobias. Many have a fear of tight spaces (claustrophobia).

In Isaiah 41:10, God says to Israel, “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.” Israel was facing the threat of a foreign nation and they were afraid. God promises them He will be with them.

Maybe you are experiencing some fear today. Whatever it is, God has promised to be with you. Just as God says to Israel, God says to us, “Don’t be afraid for I am with you.”

In the movie Patton, General George Patton told us troops that fear was common. But then he said, “courage is being afraid but saddling up anyway.”

Whatever fears we have, we can give them to the Lord.
