Trust In The Lord

Every nation wants peace. It wants to be able to protect itself against enemy invasion. To do so, a nation will invest in its military. It’s military is a sign of strength. Having a strong military is important but, we shouldn’t put our total trust in it. Proverbs 21:31 says, “The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but the victory belongs to the Lord.”

This verse is teaching us that yes, our military is important but, our hope and our ultimate trust must be in the Lord. Where is your hope and trust? Is it in your job? Your investments? Your money? Your position?

Those are good but, they can and will let you down. I knew a someone who had opened a business and was doing well. But for some reason…things turned and the business was lost. I saw this person once and their body language said it all. This person was struggling…they gave the appearance of being defeated which was quite different from before. Trust had been placed in a business and now, the business was gone.

Where is your trust? The scripture says the horse is prepared for the day of battle but our hope should be in the Lord.
