Everyone needs hope and peace. Hope keeps us going. Peace calms our nerves and helps us enjoy life.
In Romans 15:13, the apostle Paul wrote, “I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Paul tells us that God is our source of hope and peace and He will fill us with hope and peace. Hope is the promise that better days are ahead. Right now, our nation needs hope – hope that one day there will be a vaccine for the coronavirus and our lives will return to normal. And we want peace. Peace means we are content…we aren’t anxious…we experience the peace of God.
Do you have hope and peace? The only lasting hope is in the Lord. We can have hope that better days are ahead because Jesus will come back.
Peace comes from being filled with the Spirit. When the Holy Spirit fills us, we experience the peace of God. We may think that peace is just the absence of trouble or adversity but that’s not true. We can have peace in the midst of the storm.
So, do you have peace? Are you at peace? If not, you can have it as the Holy Spirit fills you and leads you.
