I would like some peace of mind.”
Or, “I don’t have peace about it.”
Have you ever said either of those things? Everyone wants peace of mind. We may go to the beach because we love the peaceful feeling of listening to the waves come in. Or, we may feel peaceful sitting on the front porch of a cabin in the mountains.
But, we don’t have to take a trip to experience peace. Jesus rose from the grave on Sunday. That night he appeared to His disciples and said “Peace be with you.” The disciples were confused…concerned..But Jesus appeared to them and said “Peace be with you.”
Jesus wants all of us to have peace. Peace is not an external thing but internal. We can have peace in the midst of a storm.
There is an old gospel song that goes;
“There is peace in a time of sorrow,
There is peace in the midst of the storm.
There is peace though the world be raging.
In the shelter of His arms.”
