God’s Will Is Always Best

Have you ever wanted to do something but, it didn’t happen? Your idea or plans just never could get any traction.

Well, Proverbs 16:9 says “We can make our plans but the. Lord determines our steps.” That means that we may have ideas and things we want to see happen but, if it’s not God’s will, it won’t happen. A classic example of this is the story of Jonah and the whale.

God called Jonah to go to Nineveh but Jonah hated the Ninevites. So, Jonah devised his own plan. He went to Joppa and bought passage onto a ship. Jonah planned to sail in the opposite direction. But God sent a storm that threatened to capsize the boat. Jonah was thrown over-board and the storm subsided.

Jonah was captured by a whale and during his stay in the whale Jonah decided that maybe God’s plan was best. So, he told the lord he would go to Nineveh and God used him there. The same can happen with us.

We may have plans but, if our plans aren’t consistent with God’s will, they won’t happen or if they do, it’s because we pushed through every warning sign God gave us. Maybe there is something you have wanted to do but it’s not happening. We can make our plans but God orders our steps.

God’s will is always best for us. We need to follow His steps.
