We are a blessed people.
If you didn’t know it before, hopefully this time of shelter-in-place has led us to count our blessings. The Lord has been good to us all.
Israel was blessed as well. Joshua 24:13 says, “I gave you land you had not worked on, and I gave you towns you did not build—the towns where you are now living. I gave you vineyards and olive groves for food, though you did not plant them.”
Think about that verse;
“I gave you land you had not worked…
I gave you towns you did not build…
I gave you Vineyard’s and olive groves for food…”
The Lord had been good to Israel. They were blessed. But why were they so blessed? Was it because they were so obedient to the Lord? No, they had been disobedient and would disobey in the future.
They were blessed because God had chosen to bless them. It was that simple…God had chosen to bless them.
And God has blessed us. Not because we are so worthy; We have disobeyed God. We have not always been faithful but God has blessed us any way.
So God has given us land we did not work…towns we didn’t build…vineyards and olive groves for food. We should serve and obey and follow the Lord because of His blessings in our lives.
