What do we have to do to be successful?
Will education do it? There is nothing wrong with getting a good education but education alone doesn’t make someone successful.
No a key to success is very simple – it’s hard work. It’s simply working harder than others.
Proverbs 13:4 says “ Lazy people want much but get little, but those who work hard will prosper.”
In every segment of life, hard work pays off.
Former President Calvin Coolidge once said; Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and Determination alone are omnipotent.” Persistence is simply working harder than others.
Years ago, Kobe Bryant was given an award at the Espy’s. In his acceptance speech he said, “I and others who have won awards are up here because if 4 AM.” He went on to explain, “It’s not that we are so much better than others. But we are up at 4 AM working harder than others.” Then he asked, “What is your 4 AM?” In other words, what are you willing to our-work someone at?
So, hard work pays off in anything we do.
