“Jesus is coming soon!”, you may have heard someone say. And Jesus will return. But, no man knows the hour.
When Jesus was about to ascend to heaven He told His followers not to devote time trying to predict when He would return. Instead, He told us to devote time to telling people about Him.
He told a parable once that teaches that we should always be ready. He said, “Be dressed for service and keep your lamps burning, as though you were waiting for your master to return from the wedding feast. Then you will be ready to open the door and let him in the moment he arrives and knocks. The servants who are ready and waiting for his return will be rewarded. I tell you the truth, he himself will seat them, put on an apron, and serve them as they sit and eat” (Lk. 12:35-37.
So, Jesus is saying we should always be ready. What do we need to do to be ready? First, make sure you know Christ as Savior and second, live for Christ. That doesn’t mean you will be perfect because you won’t. But, we should strive daily to glorify Christ.
Jesus is coming back. We don’t know when; But He will. We must be ready.
