“It’s Not The Healthy Who Need A Physician But The Sick.”

A few weeks ago, I published a post that reminded us all to be careful who we run with or hang out with. In the post, I referred to the fact that ungodly people can have a bad influence on us so we need to be careful who we are friends with. However, that doesn’t mean we aren’t to have any relationships with unsaved people.
In the gospel of Mark, there was a time when Jesus was eating in the home of Matthew along with Matthew’s friends and “many other disreputable sinners.” When the religious leaders saw this they asked His disciples, “Why does He eat with such scum?”
When Jesus heard this, He said, “it is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick; I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners” (Mark 2:41).
Jesus was reminding them of His purpose. He didn’t come for the religious leaders… He came for the lost.
So, question for all of us…do you have any relationships with nonbelievers? If you don’t, you need to develop some. Now, someone may say, “I don’t like to hang around with non-believers… they use filthy language and we just don’t agree on things.”
That may be true but we should still have relationships with them. How are we going to witness to them if we don’t have a relationship with them?
Jesus said, “I did not come for the righteous but for the unrighteous… it is not those who are well who need a physician but those who are sick.” Today… begin developing a relationship with someone who is not a believer and ask the Lord to help you show them the love of Christ/ .
