Dealing With Our Fears

Speaking in public is one of the greatest fears many people have. Because of that, years ago, the organization called Toastmasters was formed. The purpose of it was to help people deal with the fear of public speaking.
Most of us have something we experience anxiety about. For some it’s a fear of heights… for others it’s a fear of close spaces that is known as claustrophobia. Indiana Jones was a series of movies starring Harrison Ford. He was a great adventurer but he had one great fear; snakes. What is our fear?
Psalm 34:4 says, “I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears.”
Notice the Psalmist said, “He freed me from all my fears.” I’m not suggesting that if you ask the Lord, all your fears will be gone instantaneously although that can happen. I am saying the Lord gives us strength to deal with them.
Today, whatever fear you deal with, give it to the Lord. The Psalmist said, “he freed me from all my fears..” He will help us with our fears as well.
There is an old saying that “Courage is being afraid but saddling up any way.” Most people have fears. You aren’t alone. Give them to the Lord and He will help us.
