Nike had an campaign several years ago that had the tag line, “Just do it!” The ad was saying that we need to stop thinking, stop procrastinating and just do it. Or, we need to get moving!
In the book of Exodus the people of Israel had left Egypt. But Pharoah changed his mind and decided to go after Israel. Moses sees Pharoah and his army coming.
The people of Israel began to panic and cried out to Moses. Moses told the people, “Stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today! The Lord Himself will fight for you!”
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the people to get moving! Pick up your staff and raise your hand over the sea. Divide the water so the Israelites can match through.”
Focus on what the Lord said to Moses, “…tell the people to get moving!”
I believe in prayer and at times God wants us to be still and trust Him. But there are times when God wants us to act…God wants us to take action and move forward. In fact, sometimes, I believe it may be a cop-out for someone to say, “I’m praying about it.” That sounds good…it sounds spiritual…but sometimes it’s an excuse.
Maybe there is something you have been thinking about…something you have been saying you were going to do…you need to act. Just do it!
Do you need to start exercising? Just do it!
Do you need to start tithing? Just do it!
Is there someone you need to talk to? Just do it!
Is there someone you need to witness to? Just do it!
Whatever you need to do…don’t keep putting it off! Just do it!
