Jesus Helps Us With The Storms Of Life

Country musician Randy Travis has a song entitled “The Storms Of Life.” Part of the lyrics go, “The storms of life are washing me away.”
Maybe you can identify with that line… may you feel the storms of life are washing you away.
Life is filled with storms.
In Matthew 14, Jesus had told His disciples to cross to the other side of a lake. So they set out but in the middle of the night, a storm developed. Jesus walked on the water to the boat where the disciples were. When the disciples saw Jesus they were terrified. They thought He was a ghost.
Peter even said, “Lord, if it is you, let me come to you.” So, Jesus told him to come and he took a few steps until he took his eyes off Jesus and he began to sink until Jesus rescued him.
At this time, the disciples were now convinced that Jesus was, indeed, the Son of God. They were amazed that Jesus could walk on the water. As Jesus approached Jesus doesn’t promise to take the storms of life away. the disciples He said, “Take courage; it is I, be not afraid” (Matt. 14:27).
Jesus doesn’t promise to take the storms of life away but He does promise to walk with us through them. Maybe you are in the midst of a storm now. Jesus promises to walk with us through them.
The Lord didn’t take David around the valley of the shadow of death. Instead, He walked with him through it.
The Lord didn’t save Daniel from the lions den. Instead he was with him in it.
The Lord is with us in the storms of life.
