Dealing With Past Troubles

Job said, “Man, who is born of woman, Is short-lived and full of turmoil” (Job 14:1).

Man’s days are indeed filled with trouble and some have more than others. Maybe you have experienced what seems to be more than your share of turmoil. I can think of a Family now that has experience quite a bit of turmoil.

Joseph experienced lots of troubles.

When Joseph was a teenager his brothers threw him into an abandoned well intending to kill him. Then, they changed their plan and sold him to some Ishmaelite traders.

Joseph was taken to Egypt and he was sold to Potiphar. Potiphar liked Joseph and made him head of his home.

But Potiphar’s wife made an advance on Joseph, he resisted and was thrown into prison. There he met Pharoah’s baker and cup-bearer. He asked them to remember him when they were released but, they forgot him. So Joseph was in prison for years.

So Joseph experienced lots of troubles. Because of this, he named his first child “Manasseh” because God had helped him forget all his troubles. God helps us as well. It may be that some of the troubles you have experienced continue to hurt you. Sometimes the only way to heal past hurts is time.

If you are struggling with some past troubles…some past hurts…give them to the Lord. He helps us forget…but If not forget, he helps us deal with all our troubles.
