“Take Courage… There Is Hope”

Everyone needs encouragement at times. Maybe you are facing a tough challenge. Or, maybe you have a project that you are struggling with or, life has thrown you a curveball and you are down. When we are facing these situations, we need encouragement.
In Matthew 9, there was a lady who had been hemorrhaging for some time. She had heard about this man Jesus, who was healing people. There was a crowd of people around Jesus so, it was challenging to get close to him. But, she pushed through the crowd.
As she made her way closer to Jesus, she thought, “If I can just touch the hem of his garment…” Think about that. She didn’t think she needed to have a face-to-face meeting with Jesus… she felt if she could just tough His garment, that would be enough.
As she touched His garment, Jesus felt some power leave His body. He stopped and turned and saw this lady and He said, “Take courage, daughter; your faith has made you well.” Think about the first two words Jesus uttered; “Take courage..”
Jesus gave this lady hope. Hope, that she could be healed… With just the tip of her finger she touched the hem of His garment. She didn’t have to grab His garment… she reaaaccchhedd out and just touched the hem… and she was healed. She believed if she could touch the hem of His garment, that’s all she needed.
I don’t know what you are facing today, but Jesus says, “Take courage..” Jesus can help us with any problem we face. That doesn’t mean our problem goes away… it could… instantaneously… but it may not. Nevertheless, Jesus gives us hope. Hope that things can change. Hope that a problem can be solved. Hope, that He will give us the strength we need to face any challenge.
Hope that our sins can be forgiven.
I read a quote recently that was, “None of us are too far down the road that we can’t turn around and come back.” None of us have messed up so badly that we can’t be forgiven.
“Take courage,” Jesus says… “your faith has made you well.”
