Jesus Helps Us Deal With Our Demons

Several years ago, I was talking with a man and a person we both knew came up. The man said of this individual, “He’s got some demons he’s dealing with.”
Lots of people are dealing with demons of different sorts.
Some are dealing with the demon of alcohol. If they are, they are in a constant struggle to abstain from alcohol due to the impact it has on their bodies.
Some are dealing with the demon of drugs. This individual is addicted to drugs. They may be having physical problems due to the addiction to drugs.
Others may be dealing with the demon of pornography or other things. Others may be dealing with some emotional demons. If you are dealing with any of these, there is hope.
In Matthew 8:32, Jesus encounters two men who were demon-possessed man in the region of the Gedarenes. The demon-possessed men said, “Why have you come here to torture us.” There was a herd of pigs there and the men said to Jesus, “If you are going to cast us out, send us into the herd of pigs.”
So, Jesus said, “All right, go!” Jesus commanded them. So the demons came out of the men and entered the pigs, and the whole herd plunged down the steep hillside into the lake and drowned in the water.”
Some Bible scholars believer there was more demonic activity during the time Jesus was on earth. But, people are still dealing with demons. In fact, a person can lose hope due to demonic activity they are struggling with.
If you are struggling with demons, there is hope in Jesus. Now, I don’t mean that you will never struggle with demonic activity again. And, I’m not saying it will be easy. But, Jesus wants to and can help you.
Don’t think you can whip demons on your own. Demons are powerful but they are not all-powerful. The Bible says, “Greater is He that is in you, than He that is in the world” (I John 4:4).
Jesus will help us with our demons. If you are dealing with some, give it to the Lord. It’s the first step in dealing with it.
