God Cares For Us In A Dog-Eat-Dog World.

In the movie “You, Me & Dupree,” Owen Wilson plays a guy who is kind of down-on-his-luck and is invited to move in with some married friends of his. WWL, things don’t go so well and he is told he will have to leave. So Dupree leaves and he finds a bench to sit on by the road. It’s raining and a vehicle comes along that splashes water all over Dupree. You laugh at the scene but, that scene can describe the world. At times it may feel like you are having water splashed all over you.

At times you can feel like no one cares. But the Bible tells us the Lord cares. Psalms 147:3 says, “He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds. He counts the stars and calls them all by name.”

Think about that verse; “He heals the broken-hearted.” Lots of people have had broken hearts…Maybe you are dealing with a broken heart now. Maybe Christmas was tough for you.

But notice the text says, “He counts the stars and calls them by name.” The Lord who heals the broken-hearted counts the stars and calls them by name. That means He cares.

I don’t know what you are dealing with today but Jesus loves you. Jesus cares for you. There are times when this world may not give a rip. That is a fact. But, God cares. God always cares.

Any time of the day, any day of the week, we can call in God. He loves us. He cares for us.

Now, someone may ask, “Ok, how Is God going to help me?”

God helps us through reading His word. They are many verses in the Bible that remind us of God’s love and care.

Second, God’s Spirit comforts us. God promises to be with us.

Third, God may send someone to help you or encourage you.

God loves you. He cares for you. Your past doesn’t matter. God loves us and cares for us.

There is an expression that is often used to describe the world. It is, “It’s a dog-eat-dog world out there.” And it is… but the Lord cares for us when the world is biting at our heels.
