The end of the year is a great time for reflection. It’s a god time to think back across the year and evaluate our lives. Socrates said, “The unexamined life is not worth living.”
One good thing to evaluate is, where is your hope? Many people put their Hope in their education. Others put their hope in their job or their bank account. Where is your Hope? The only source of hope that will never fail us is the Lord.
During my time of struggle over the past four years I became very disenchanted with the church. I was talking with a Pastor friend of mine and he said, “Don’t put your trust in people…put it in the Lord.”
He was right. People will let you down, Jesus doesn’t.
The Psalmist said, “Don’t put your confidence in powerful people; there is no help for you there. When they breathe their last, they return to the earth, and all their plans die with them. But joyful are those who have the God of Israel[a] as their helper, whose hope is in the Lord their God.”
So, again; where is your hope? If it’s in anything other the Lord, it’s not secure. Make certain your Hope is in the Lord.
