We Don’t Need A Costume – God Knows Us Like We Really Are

In the classic movie “The Wizard of Oz,” there is a man that stands behind a curtain who is supposed to be this great man. But, Toto the dog goes behind the curtain and Dorothy and the scarecrow and the tin man and lion realize there isn’t a great Oz… it’s just a man behind a curtain pretending to be the great Oz.
Yesterday was Halloween And part of Halloween is dressing up in costumes. A costume disguises who we are. If we get to wear a costume, we get to play make-believe meaning, we can play like we are something we aren’t.
But we don’t need a costume with God. God knows us. God made us. God created us. We don’t have to make God thing we are something that we aren’t.
God can see behind the curtain. God knows us as we really are. We don’t have to play make-believe.
God accepts us just like we are. Maybe you wish you were a better athlete? Or, maybe more intelligent? Or, maybe there is someone you would love to look like.
God accepts us like we are. He knows… he cares for us…
Today, you can take the costume off. You don’t need to pretend to be anything. God made you and loves you… just like you are.
