Most of us have heard of “doubting Thomas.” Thomas was the man who had doubts about Jesus rising from the grave. Thomas said that unless he could see Jesus and touch Him, he would have difficulty believing. Most of us, at times, are like Thomas. We have had doubts.
In Psalm 94:19, the psalmist said, “When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer.”
Think about those words…
“When doubts filled my mind…”
What kind of doubts do we have? Some, may at times doubt Christianity. They may question if the Bible and Jesus are really real. Some may doubt the promises of God. Maybe they doubt if God will indeed, provide for them. Some may doubt if their prayers will be answered.
Doubts happen…but we need to deal with them. So how do we deal with doubts?
When we face doubts, we should remind ourselves of God’s promises. Maybe go back through tine and remember the times when God provided. As you remember those, the Lord uses that to remind us that His promises are real and true.
We can read God’s word. It has promises throughout that God makes for His people.
God promises to provide for us.
God promises that He will never leave us nor forsake us.
Maybe you are struggling with doubts. If so, give them to the Lord. God has proven Himself over and over. We CAN trust Him.
As the old hymn puts it;
“Standing on the promises of Christ my King.
Through eternal ages let His praises ring.
Glory in the highest I will shout and sing.
Standing on the promises of God.”
