One of the many blessings of the Christian life is the opportunity to pray. As Christians, we have the opportunity to pray to and talk to the God of the universe, Jehovah God. That is an amazing opportunity!
In I Timothy 2, the apostle Paul says, “I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people…” Paul challenges us to lift others up in prayer. What are we doing when we pray for others?
We are taking their name and their need to God. We are asking God to help them or bless them.
Now, one thing we need to be careful about; we should pray but, our prayers shouldn’t stop there. If someone has a need and we can meet that need, we should do what we can to meet the need.
I believe in prayer but I also believe in putting feet to our prayers. If someone needs something, we should do what we can to help them.
Through prayer we are able to go before Jehovah God with our petitions.
Now, someone may say, “Well, I’m praying but God isn’t answering my prayer.” Yes He is. God’s answer is either “Yes,” “No,” or “Wait.” Maybe God is telling you to wait or, maybe God has closed the door on something. But God always answers our prayers.
Today, I encourage you to pray. Take your needs to the Father. Someone has said that a day that starts and ends in prayer is less likely to come unraveled in the middle.
