When someone gets a divorce, you may ask, “What caused it? What happened?”
The person may reply, “It wasn’t one thing…it was lots of little things. “ Little things seem insignificant…after all, it is a little thing…but lots of little things become a big thing.
Song of Solomon 2:15 says, “Catch the foxes for us, The little foxes that are ruining the vineyards, While our vineyards are in blossom.””
There are little foxes in our lives that we need to watch for.
There is the little fox of integrity. Are you constantly stretching the truth or telling “a little white lie?” Those “little lies” become larger ones. We need to be careful and not allow the little fox of integrity to cause problems.
There is the little fox of trust. Can you be trusted or, do you have a tendency to repeat something you have been told? When someone tells you something in confidence, it needs to remain with you.
There is the little fox of temper. Most people get angry at times. But it’s ongoing anger…constantly getting angry that is a problem. We need to be careful with the little fox of temper.
And there are others. Laziness could be a little fox…lack of discipline could be a little fox…a failure to take responsibility…
Today, be careful to not allow the little foxes to bring you down. Just as they spoiled the vineyard, they can destroy our lives.
