May The Lord Grant Our Heart’s Desires

Psalms 20:4 says, “May he grant your heart’s desires and make all your plans succeed.” Many would read that verse and say that it represents a blank check from God. I mean, just request what ever you want and . God will grant it. I mean, that’s what the verse says, correct?
Not necessarily.
Psalm 37:4 says, “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.” This verse means that if we have a strong walk with the Lord, God answers our prayers because our prayers are consistent with God’s will.
So, God will grant our heart’s desires if our heart’s desires are consistent with God’s will.
Now, what is our heart’s desires and how does our heart desires become consistent with God’s will? When we love the Lord… we read God’s word. We spend time in prayer. We have fellowship with God’s people.
When do those things, our desires become God’s desires. We want to be in the center of God’s will so, read His word, pray, etc… Then, when we . pray, yes, our prayers are a reflection of our walk with the Lord and the Lord grants our hearts desires.
