Some people think that when a person becomes a Christian, they never sin again. But that’s not true. Although Christ forgives us of our sins, our old fleshy nature is still there and it causes us to sin.
So that old nature has to be dealt with.
Paul said in Romans 6:12, “Do not let sin control the way you live;[a] do not give in to sinful desires.” Notice Paul says, “Don’t let sin CONTROL the way you live. Our old nature wants to control us and will control us if we aren’t careful. This is why every day, it must be killed. Every day we have to die to self. Every day the old flesh must be crucified.
Do you struggle with your tongue? Every day we must ask the Lord to crucify our tongue.
Every day we must ask the Lord to help us control our thoughts….etc.
Every day the flesh must be crucified.
Now, maybe you feel bad because of your constant struggles with your old self. You are not perfect friend. No one is. If you have sinned, Jesus will forgive but we must ask. Ask for forgiveness and ask the Lord to help you control your old life.
Today, ask the Lord to crucify your flesh so that sin doesn’t control you.
