Sounds like a movie, doesn’t it? A movie complete with action scenes , explosions and in the end, the good guys win. Neat movie, right?
Well that would be a good movie idea but the Bible says there is going to be a real judgment day. Paul wrote in Romans 2:7, “He will judge everyone according to what they have done.”
Paul also wrote, “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad” (2 Corinthians 5:10).
Now, there are different interpretations of judgment day. But I’m not going to get into that…let’s just focus on the fact there is going to be a judgment day.
On judgment day, two things will be important; are you a Christian and how have you lived your life? Rev 20:15 says “If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.” So, on judgment day the most important thing is, are you a believer in Christ?
Second, have you lived for Christ? Jesus said, “For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me” (Matt. 25).
So, are you ready for judgment day? If you have believed in Jesus for forgiveness of sins and if you are living for Christ, you are. If not, I encourage to take those steps to be ready.
