“He’s Been Faithful To Me”

Has someone promised you something and then didn’t do what they promised? It stings, doesn’t it? It can make you not trust people.
Years ago, something like this happened to me. A person mis-led me and it really stung. It made me wonder if I could trust people. I could.. and I learned that but, that experience stung me.
The fact is, people will let you down. They will. People are human and human’s sin and make mistakes. I have a Preacher friend that I take with pretty regularly. At times in the past, I’ve told him that someone disappointed me. His normal reply is, “Keep your eyes on Jesus… He will never let you down.”
In Psalm 145:13-14, the Psalmist says, “The Lord always keeps his promises; he is gracious in all he does. The Lord helps the fallen and lifts those bent beneath their loads.”
Notice the Psalmist says “The Lord ALWAYS keeps His promises..”
Ok, what has the Lord promised to do for us?
He has promised to provide for us. Paul wrote, “My God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory” (Phil. 4:19).
He has promised to never leave us nor forsake us. Hebrews 13:5 says, “…I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”
He has promised to answer our prayers according to His will. Isaiah 65:24 says, “I will answer them before they even call to me.”
God will be with us. Psalm 23 says, “Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, thou art with me.”
And there are numerous other promises. Today, if you have trouble trusting people because someone has lied to you or mis-led you, no that people will let you down but God never will. He is always faithful.
There is a song that Carole Cymbala wrote years ago;
“He’s been faithful, faithful to me,
Looking back His love and mercy I see.
Thou in my heart I have questioned
And failed to believe
He’s been faithful, Faithful to me.”
