Don’t Let Pride Keep You From Being Healed

Pride can keep us from admitting we need help. Pride can keep us from humbling ourselves enough to ask for help. Naaman is a great example of that.
In the Bible there is a story about a man Naaman. He had leprosy. Naaman was an influential man… he was the captain of the King of Aram’s army.
Naaman was told to go and see the prophet Elisha in Samaria and he could be healed. Well, the prophet Elisha told Naaman to wash himself seven times in the river Jordan.
Hearing that, Naaman walked away angry. He thought his healing would be a more dramatic and possibly theatric event. But one of Naaman’s servants approached him and encouraged him to wash himself seven times in the Jordan.
So Naaman did and he was healed of leprosy. But he almost wasn’t… because of his pride.
Is there something you need to change… something you need to change… and you can’t bring yourself to humble yourself to do it?
Don’t let pride bring you down. Be willing to humble yourself and ask for help and then, follow the plan given.
Maybe your problem is alcohol or drugs… or something else. Don’t be ashamed to admit you need help. Don’t be ashamed to ask for help.
Do you want to continue living with whatever addiction you have or, are you willing to take whatever steps necessary to be healed. Naaman washed himself seven times in the Jordan and he was healed. He humbled himself and God cured him of leprosy.
