“I Was Blind But Now I Can See”

Christianity has been around for two-thousand years. It’s stood the test of time. Yet, atheists, skeptics and agnostics love to look for reasons they think discredits Christianity.
I was conversing with an atheist once on social media and this person told me he was once a Christian. I asked him why he left the faith? He replied, “I couldn’t believe in a talking snake.” He was referring to the story in the book of Genesis.
There may be some verses in the Bible that perplex us but, they don’t mean that Christianity isn’t real. However, the best proof for the Christian faith is a changed life.
In John 9, Jesus met a man who had been blind from birth and He healed him. As you can imagine, the man was ecstatic! He was confronted by the religious leaders and they asked Him what his opinion was of Jesus. The man said, “I think He must be a prophet.”
The religious leaders scoffed at him. So, they said, “God should get the glory for this… this man is a sinner.” The man replied, “I don’t know whether he is a sinner.. but I know this.. I was blind and now I can see!”
“I was blind and now I can see!” That statement is the statement of a changed man and Jesus has changed the lives of thousands.
What about your life? Is it changed? It is the best example any of us can carry into this world.
There is the story of a man named Joe who worked at a local plant. Joe loved the Lord and it was evident in his life. Everyone at the plant knew Joe. He was a likable guy.
One day, there was an accident and a young man lay on the ground dying. It was obvious he wasn’t going to make it and someone caring for him was going to witness to him.. in hopes he would receive Christ before passing away.
The man asked, “Son, do you know Jesus?”
The dying young man replied, “Who is Jesus? Is He like Joe?”
“Is He like Joe?” Strong testimony. Joe’s life was changed and this young man knew it.
What about your life? None of us are perfect. We are all human and we are all sinners. But, if we have trusted Christ as our Savior, there is going to life-change in our lives.
The blind man said, “I don’t know if he is a sinner or not… but I know this; I was blind and now I can see.” We were spiritually blind until Jesus changed us.
