“Ebenezer – The Lord Has Helped Us All”

“Help! I need somebody. Help!”
Those of the are lyrics of one of the Beatle’s hit songs. We can all identify with those lyrics because we all need help at times.
In I Samuel 7:12, Samuel instructs Israel to put a huge stone down between Mizpah and Jeshanah. And, Samuel named that place “Ebenezer” which means “the Lord has helped us.”
Everyone of us could put down an “Ebenezer” because God has helped us all.
God saves us…
God provides for us…
God directs us…
God comforts us…
At times you may hear someone say something like, “I don’t know how I would have gotten by if it hadn’t been for the help of the Lord.” Most of us can say something like that.
There is a poem that perhaps you are familiar with. It’s called “Footprints In The Sand.” It talks about how God has helped us. It talks about how God has walked with us through the storms of life. Then, at the end, there is only one set of footprints. To the traveler it seemed like God wasn’t helping then.
So, the traveler asked the Lord and the Lord said, “When you saw one set of footprints, I was carrying you.”
The Lord carries us all at times. Today, raise an Ebenezer to the Lord because the Lord has helped us all.
