Help In Making Decisions

We make decisions every day.
Some may be minor decisions… what will you wear to work? where will you eat lunch? etc…
Others are major decisions. Do you take a job offer? Do you buy a house?
So, how do you make good decisions?
Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct Thy paths.”
Think about that verse… “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding…” When we are trying to make decisions, we are encouraged to totally trust in the Lord. Sometimes, instead of trusting in the Lord, we try to figure things out on our own. That’s when we make mistakes.
The scripture says, “…lean not on your own understanding…”
Instead, we are encouraged, “…in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct Thy paths…” In ALL your ways acknowledge HIM.. If we put the Lord first, He will guide us.
So maybe you are trying to make a decision today. You are trying to figure things out…       You can’t… I can’t… we can’t… but the Lord can.
A word of caution here… sometimes what we need to do is pretty plain. You don’t need to ask the Lord if you should tithe. The answer is always “yes.”
You don’t need to ask the Lord if you should serve. The answer is “yes.”
So, if you are trying to make a decision… trust the Lord… talk to the Lord… He will guide you… Don’t try to figure it out on your own.. Trust the Lord.
Decisions are important…. John Wooden, legendary Coach at UCLA once said, “There is a choice you make in everything you do; Keep in mind that in the end, the choice you make, makes you.”
We are a sum total of our decisions which is why we should trust the Lord when making them.
