Hang On To God – Even When Your Foot Slips

When we live for Christ and serve Christ, life is supposed to be great, right? I mean, you never have any problems, you always have enough money and life is great, right? And, you have answers to all your questions. No, that’s not right although many people like to think that’s the way it is.
We have this idea that if you live for Jesus you will never have any problems and life will be grand. But that is not true. Living for Jesus is the right way to live and the Lord does give us daily help but we will have problems. We will have questions that at times, have no answers.
In Psalm 95, the Psalmist said, “If the Lord had not been my help, My soul would soon have dwelt in the abode of silence. If I should say, ‘My foot has slipped,’ Your loving kindness O Lord will hold me up.”
Think about those words…”If I should say ‘My foot has slipped..'”. Has your foot ever slipped? Have you ever been frustrated, discouraged and at times, you Question your faith? I will be transparent; I have. You question why something is taking so long? You think your prayers aren’t being answered. The wicked prosper while you struggle.
That’s where the Psalmist was. He says that his foot almost slipped. But God’s lovingkindess held him up.
When you are burned by another Christian, God’s lovingkindness holds you up.
When you question some things you’ve believed all your life; God holds you up.
When Christians or even Ministers disappoint you, God holds you up.
Things don’t always make sense. We dont always have the answers. That doesn’t mean that God does’t exist. God is still on the throne and He still loves us.
These words were found written on thr wall of a Nazi concentration camp;
“I believe in the sun even when it’s not shining.
I believe in love even when I can’t feel it.
I believe in God even when He is silent.”.
Hang on to God…He will hang on yo us…even when our foot slips.
