God WILL Forgive Our Sins… If We Ask

Have you ever had a day where you worked outside all day… maybe it was cutting grass… weed eating… working in the flower beds… etc… and at the end of the day, you are physically drained because you have been in the hot sun all day. The sun zapped you of your strength.
Sin can do the same. Sin can zap us… it can drain us…
David talks about this in Psalm 32. David had committed adultery with Bathsheba then, David arranged to have Bathsheba’s husband killed. David had sinned and his sin separated him from God. Every day, the sin David had committed drained him. Every day it drained him of his energy.
David says in Psalm 32, “When I kept silent about my sin, my body wasted away, Through my groaning all day long.”
“My body wasted away….” David’s sin was eating away at him. Sin does that. Sin can cause us to stay away from worship… we know we have sinned and we can feel embarrassed to be in God’s presence… we can question if we can be forgiven.
David added, “For day and night Thy hand was heavy upon me… My vitality was drained away as with the fever heat of summer.”
Maybe there is unconfessed sin in your life. You haven’t asked God to forgive you because, you question if God will forgive you. So, your sin eats away at you. It’s a constant drain on your body.
But it doesn’t have to be. David says, “I acknowledged my sin to Thee… And my iniquity I did not hide… ” So David confessed his sin and God “… forgave his iniquity.”
The same can happen with you. God will forgive you… if you ask. There is nothing you have done that God’s won’t forgive if you are sorry for your sin and you confess it.
I encourage you… if you are embarrassed… if you have made a mistake and you are afraid God won’t forgive you… confess your sin to God and God will forgive you.
