We Are Never Rejected In Jesus

(This post is NOT about politics! The story I use is for illustrative purposes only… I repeat… this is NOT about politics!)
Have you ever experienced it?
It’s tough.
A few days ago, White House Press Secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders experienced rejection. She and her family were at the Little Hen restaurant in the Washington D.C. area. The owner of the restaurant was home that night when an employee called her and told here that Sanders and a group were at the restaurant. The owner drove to the restaurant and after consulting with her staff, she asked Sanders for a word a with her. The two stepped aside and she asked Sanders and her group to leave.
I’ve thought about that over the last few days. Can you imagine being asked to leave a restaurant? But the owner did and the owner was within their rights to do so. I’m not saying I agree with the owner but they can decide whom they will serve or not serve.
As I thought about Sarah Sanders experience, I thought about back people during the Civil Rights movement. They couldn’t eat in many restaurants and in those they could, they had a section they had to sit in. So, they experienced rejection due to the color of their skin.
Can you imagine being told “we don’t want you here?”
There is only one place where we never experience rejection and that’s with Jesus. Jesus Christ never, ever rejects us. We have not messed up so bad that Jesus won’t love us. A restaurant may reject us… a school may reject us… we may not make the cut on the baseball team or cheerleading squad… but Jesus Christ never ever rejects us.
Jesus said in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world He gave His only begotten son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” Jesus never rejects us.
It doesn’t matter what’s in our past.
It doesn’t matter how much we make.
It doesn’t matter if we dropped out of high school.
Jesus loves us and accepts us…
He never rejects us.
Jesus stands with outstretched arms waiting to love us today. He will not reject us!
