“Keep Christ in CHRISTmas.”
You’ve seen and heard that phrase thousands of times. But even though it is old and maybe trite, it is still needed because even though we may have the best of intentions, it evidently is a challenge to keep CHRIST in CHRISTmas.
December is a busy month… very busy. Life is busy enough as it is and when you add the layer of Christmas activities well, it’s super busy! So, we need to be reminded to keep Jesus at the very front of Christmas.
Revelation 4:11 says, “You are worthy, O Lord our God, to receive glory and honor and power. For you created all things, and they exist because you created what you pleased.”
The writer says, “You are worthy, O Lord… to receive glory and honor and power…” It was a time of worship. That’s what Christmas is.. a time to worship the baby Jesus who came into the world to die for our sins. All of the other things associated with Christmas has been added… in large part.. due to the commercial aspect of Christmas. But I encourage you, make time for worship.
For several years I would have families tell me they couldn’t attend the Christmas Eve service at church because that’s when they had their Christmas. Some of those families eventually started attending and for some families, the Christmas Eve communion service was a highlight of their Christmas tradition. I encourage you… make time for worship.
Christmas is about Jesus… period. Keep Christ in CHRISTmas.
